MR. RHEA'S CREDENTIALS
Martial Arts: I have owned schools prior to this and have served as the Lead Instructor for a 15 school system with over 600 students system wide. I have been teaching Martial Arts since 1982.
1978-1982 - Trained under Master Virgil Davis in the United Fighting Arts Federation (UFAF). This system was known at that time as the Chuck Norris System. Today, UFAF is a Black Belt organization that manages the Chuck Norris System, Chun Kuk Do.
1982 - Promoted to 1st Degree Black Belt. Examination board chaired by Grand Master Norris.
1982-1996 - Trained with Master Pyong Kon Eun. Master Eun is a Korean Yudo College graduate and served with Korean Presidential Protection Detail, Korean CIA, was the 1976 Korean Judo champion, and represented South Korea in the last two Olympic Judo events as a judge.
1982-1996 - Promoted to 4th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do
Promoted to 2nd Degree Black Belt in Hap Ki Do
Promoted to 2nd Degree Black Belt in Judo
1996-2011 - Trained individually and taught in small private groups. I served as an Adjunct Instructor at a Birmingham Tae Kwon Do school for three years while mobilized there as an Army Reservist.
2012 Promoted to 5th Degree in Tae Kwon Do/Yong Moo Do
US Army Reserve: I have served as an Army Reserve Officer for over 25 years and plan to continue serving my country indefinitely. My current rank is Lieutenant Colonel and I have held assignments ranging from 19D Recon Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Assistant Battalion Intelligence Officer, Company Commander, Battalion Logistics Officer (S-4), Brigade Maintenance Officer, Task Force Operations Officer (S-3), Brigade S-3 (Current Operations),Battalion/Brigade Observer/Controller/Trainer, and I currently serve as a Command and General Staff instructor.
Civilian Career: I am currently employed as the Assistant Commandant of Cadets at Marion Military Institute, the "Military College of Alabama". Upon returning from Afghanistan in OCT 2011, I retired from a 28 year career in Training and Operations Management and began building this Martial Arts Academy as a ministry of service to my students and the Marion County community. The majority of positions that I have held focused on Instructional Systems Design and Training Management and the most significant operations position, in conjunction with Training Management, was as the Vice President, Chief Operating Officer for a Security corporation that grossed $24M annually and employed approximately 1200. I have a Baccalaureate Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts in Education (Instructional Technology and Adult Learning).
